Vietnam passport index has increased five ranks up compared to 2022, according to Henley Passport Index, Vietnam comes 87th in the top, increased five ranks up compared to 2022 (92th) in the ranking of the most powerful passports in the world in 2023.

“A passport is a type of travel document, usually issued by the government of a country to its citizens, that confirms the identity and nationality of the person issued for the purpose of international travel (to other countries and territories).”

Currently, Vietnamese citizens can travel to 55 destinations (Burundi in East Africa is the latest) where visa applications are exempt or have a success rate of up to 100%. Also in this ranking, Japan and Singapore are the two leading countries with passports valid to 193 destinations.
