In particular, the Southeast region is the economic locomotive, as of December 31, 2020, this region has the largest number of businesses in the country with 281.1 thousand businesses, accounting for 41.1% of the total number of businesses in the whole country, increased 32.2% compared to 2016; attracting 5.4 million employees, accounting for 36.6% of the total number of employees working in the enterprise, up 1.5% compared to 2016.

The Red River Delta region is the second largest economic center in the country with 216.8 thousand businesses, accounting for 31.7% of the total number of businesses in the country, an increase of 36.8% compared to 2016; attracting 4.9 million employees, accounting for 33.2%, up 6.9% compared to 2016.

Next, the North Central and Central Coast regions had 89.2 thousand businesses, accounting for 13.0%, up 39.7% compared to 2016, attracting 1.7 million employees, accounting for 11.4% , up 2% compared to 2016.

Ranked fourth is the Mekong River Delta region with 50.9 thousand businesses, accounting for 7.4%, up 36.3% compared to 2016, attracting 1.2 million employees, accounting for 8.1%, up 8.6% compared to 2016.

The Northern Midlands and Mountains region ranked 5th with 28.1 thousand businesses, accounting for 4.1%, up 43.4% compared to 2016, attracting 936.1 thousand employees, accounting for 6.4%, 14.3% increase compared to 2016.

Finally, the Central Highlands has 17.9 thousand businesses, accounting for 2.6%, up 38.0% compared to 2016, attracting 226 thousand employees, accounting for 1.5%, down 6% compared to 2016.

Thus, in the period 2016-2020, each region attracts businesses in its own ways, in which business owners and investors can rely on statistics to establish effective business plans.
