During the meeting, the Association gathered feedback on plans to establish a new branch in Ho Chi Minh City. This initiative represents a significant step toward creating a unified community for private hospitals, helping them collaborate better, share resources, and address regulatory challenges.
The Growing Role of Private Hospitals
According to public data from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health (September 2025), the city is home to 164 hospitals:
14 central/ministry-level hospitals
60 public hospitals under city management
90 private hospitals
With private hospitals accounting for more than half of the total facilities, it is clear that private investment plays a vital role in expanding healthcare services, reducing pressure on public hospitals, and improving medical quality for local residents.
